The Website
I've recently transfered all my stuff from GoDaddy (shitty host) to
Cloudflare, which provides free HTTPS and server hosting. I don't reccomend GoDaddy cause they're pretty expensive and bloated. I actually fully made the switch to cloudflare cause theyre cheaper AND have better servers
โ -โ โ โ my current setup is a github repo that cloudflare is attatched to, so I can just save my files and push to the live site in like 30 seconds. :)
Nobody has actually asked me these questions, but I think they would be pretty handy for some general info ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ
I used W3 schools to learn HTML and CSS. It also offers a lot of other coding languages and lots of in-depth tutorials. It's a great resource, and I highly reccomend it (its free too).
I also used Chat GPT to help out whenever I got stuck on something. If you want to use it to learn how to code, just make sure that you fully understand everything that it is generating for you, or else your website's code is gonna turn into spaghettii that only occasionally works (kinda like mine) and you won't have learned anything.

โ โ I made them in GIMP (free photoshop alternative) by downloading the icons online, then editing them to my liking. (I added an outline and used lots of gradients) I then used an online converter to convert the PNGs into ICOs.
โ โ After converting to an ICO file, you can right click on your application, right click again on it in that menu, then click on properties. (you can also do this on desktop icons & file directories) Next click on the 'Change Icon...' button, and select your file. You may need to restart the app afterwards for the changes to take effect.
if you like my icons, feel free to DM me on Discord @sirdumpybear or email me at contact@milosonthe.net and I can send over the files.
I use Lively Wallpaper, which is a free alternative to Steam's Wallpaper Engine ($4.99) . Lively uses websites as wallpapers, so (including some built in ones) I use Particles.js.
I use an app called Kando , which is a free pie-menu app launcher. It lets me create my own sub-menus for things like blender, web development, games, keyboard shortcuts, and even pasting in text like this:
This is old now.
I now use Flow Launcher, which is kindof like MacOS' Spotlight search feature, but for windows!

If you want a simple transparent taskbar background, I would reccomend translucentTB. It gives you a few customization options, and it works well with Lively.
If you want a fully custom taskbar like this, I would wholeheartedly reccomend getting Windhawk!
Windhawk is an app that allows you to mod and customize things that you wouldn't normally be able to, like explorer.exe (which controls the taskbar, start menu, file explorer, etc..) . It practically allows you to have the customization of linux without having to switch operating systems entirely.
I have a couple pretty useful chrome extensions that help me either control sites more easily or add useful features to Chrome.
also a website, but they offer a chrome extension that allows you to ๐๐ข๐ ๐ก๐๐๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ธ๐พ๐ป โฃโโงโฃ ๐ฅ๐ข๐ค๐ แตฬฒสฐฬฒโฑฬฒหขฬฒ and add in emojis easily ๐
allows you to adjust website volume from 0% to 600% and add bass boost.
allows you to change video speed from 1% up to 1600% . Works for all video sites I have found, including long videos you need to watch for assignments, or advertisements if your ad blocker stops working
allows you to completely change Youtube's interface with 281 options (as of writing). I removed the reccomended videos bar on the right, and reduced the amount of shown videos on the home page to like 6 because I'm an addict.
returns youtube dislikes, duh
also a website, a quick reverse image search that works on any image in a site.
For some reason a while ago, chrome totaly shat the bed on me. That's why I switched to firefox!
Although it isn't as popular as chrome, firefox offers some pretty snazzy extensions. It's astronomically easier to change things with firefox compared to chrome, so I actually need fewer extensions. Nonetheless, here they are ๐
allows you to open tabs with different accounts already logged in (ex: work, school, personal, family member)
What it says on the tin. This ad blocker works so well that some people switch to firefox just to use it!
allows you to completely remove some features of youtube that keep you hooked (related videos, comments, homepage, trending, etc.).
Stops some creepy sites from fingerprinting (tracking based on browser, hardware, etc..)
Stops websites from realizing that you clicked off of them. Use your imagination as to what this could be used for.
up to 16x ร built in playback speed
